Jon was educated in Scotland and in North Carolina in the United States before studying law at the University of Glasgow.
He specialises in commercial real estate and has over 25 years’ experience across the public and private sectors in managing property portfolios for clients.
Jon joined Levy & McRae in June 2022 and represents a wide variety of investors, small and medium sized businesses, property developers, restaurateurs and retailers.
He advises clients on a wide variety of property-related matters, including negotiating development agreements, re-financing, the acquisition and disposal of commercial property, business sales and acquisitions, advising on planning matters, community asset transfers, option agreements and commercial leasing.
Jon combines this expertise with previous experience as a Bailie and Local Councillor in the City of Glasgow (2003 to 2017), playing a leading role in effecting significant changes across a number of planning, educational, transport and employability sectors in the city. He also chaired numerous high profile public sector governance platforms and charity boards, including Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), which he chaired from 2010 to 2012 and again between 2015 and 2017.
