Cameron is a Solicitor and Notary Public within our specialist litigation team.
He specialises in private criminal defence and regularly conducts summary trials across a wide range of cases, including crimes of violence, public order offences, sexual offences, firearms, and domestic-related offences. He has developed a strong advocacy practice, with a particular focus on sensitive cases requiring careful preparation and effective courtroom presentation. Cameron is particularly interested in complex financial and corporate crime. He regularly advises and represents serving police officers through the Scottish Police Federation, registered foster carers, and a wide range of regulated professionals, including doctors, psychiatrists, and white-collar professionals.
In addition to his criminal defence work, Cameron has experience in civil proceedings, including property disputes and licensing hearings before local authorities. He is also closely involved in the preparation of solemn matters within the supreme courts, working alongside counsel in cases involving the most serious offences in Scots law, including rape and homicide-related offences.
Alongside his core practice, Cameron is developing experience in media law, including defamation, crisis and reputation management, as well as niche commercial dispute resolution. He is also increasingly involved in Public Inquiries and Fatal Accident Inquiries.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Cameron demonstrated strong leadership as President of his Legal Mooting Society and subsequently as President of his Law School. In 2023, he was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Higher Education trophy by Herald Scotland. In recognition of his courtroom advocacy, he was selected to represent Scotland at the 2022 Telders International Court Competition before the International Court of Justice.
Beyond the firm, Cameron brings a distinctive breadth of experience. He is a Company Director at Scotland’s largest Citizens Advice Bureau and one of the youngest solicitors appointed to the Law Society of Scotland’s Criminal Law and Public Policy Committees. Through these roles, he contributes to law reform, engages with key justice stakeholders, and provides input on proposed legislation before both the Scottish and UK Parliaments.
Cameron has also completed a professional certification in legal technology, equipping him with a strong understanding of emerging developments in legal practice. This enables him to support the firm’s technological growth and engage meaningfully with innovation across the sector.
