Public Inquiries

Inquiries set up by the government into matters of public importance have become a key feature of UK legal and political life. We are well established in acting as solicitors to an Inquiry and representing core participants. This gives us a unique insight into how public inquiries proceed, and enables us to provide you with legal advice from a position of deep experience.

Our experience on both sides of the table allows us to quickly guide you through what can feel like a daunting process. These are always sensitive, high-profile events, which presents challenges in terms of reputation and risk management, and scrutiny from the media and the public. The sheer volume of material which inquiries consider and their ability to overturn many stones can be both daunting and overwhelming.

We use the experience and range of our team to ensure that no detail is overlooked, and you are well-prepared for every possible line of inquiry. Our team includes lawyers who have come to us from government departments, strengthening our knowledge of the main participants and ability to forecast how the inquiry will unfold for you.
