Elise Schwarz joined Levy & McRae in June 2026. A member of the MediLaw team, her principal focus is The Eljamel Inquiry.
Elise began her legal career in New York in 2002, practising in the areas of personal injury, commercial litigation and immigration law.
Upon returning to her native Scotland, she stepped away from legal practice to work as a mediator. This experience provided her with unique insight into the strategies and perspectives of parties involved in legal disputes.
Over the last several years, Elise has conducted extensive research into the misdiagnosis of child abuse and its medical and legal implications. She has advised members of the legal profession on this subject and has presented her findings to the Faculty of Advocates.
Elise holds a practising certificate from the Law Society of Scotland, is admitted to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales, and is a member of the New York Bar. She is also a former member of Scotland’s Children’s Panel and currently serves on the board of a local charity.
